The catastrophe of a day off

I began to think about this recently. Of course I'm not talking about a day off from work, or a day of relaxation.

Have you ever missed a service only to have (seemingly) everyone come up to you later and say, " Guess what you missed" or "What an awesome service".

I thought of different times having missed because of sickness or work, and trying to "catch up" on the service later. Have you ever thought this could be my last service i sure would want it to be my last. I remember as a young teen (14yrs) being in a "red hot" Sunday night service with a young lady we all kind of thought was a little extreme. I remember her worshipping God with all her heart, speaking in tongues, shouting, dancing, and celebrating Jesus. I didn't know that this would be her last service. She had been ill and hadn't been in church for several services. It seemed as if she wanted to "make up for lost time" that night. Later that week she passed away at the young age of 21 yrs. However, I remember standing at her gravesite saying, "there is no doubt in my mind that she made heaven, she never took a day off".

David what would your legacy have been if not for a day off. You should have been in battle. You should have been in the middle of the fight. Instead you were taking a day off. You didn't protect yourself from the catastrophe of a day off. So you ended up committing adultery and then murder. Consequently, the curse of God never left your household. Oh, the catastrophe of a day off!

We must realize the catastrophe of a day off! What will I miss that may impact my life for Christ? Maybe my healing is there. Maybe my deliverance is there. Maybe it will be my last service. Maybe that person I've been inviting will actually show up. Maybe it will be a "Landmark Service" in my life.

What will they say about you? Will it be "Oh, the catastrophe of their day off" or "They treated every service as if it were their last".

Don't experience "The Catastrophe of a Day Off"!

God Bless!
